The exhibition is targeted towards professional musicians, music students and anyone with an interest in music. Now in its third year, it includes 230 exhibitors, a quarter of which are for stringed instruments. The exhibitors hail from 16 countries and vary from small businesses to larger companies specialising in everything from instruments, accessories and strings to tonewood and lutherie tools. Schools, universities and music associations are also present, as well as a host of renowned violin makers.
This year’s event includes 80 concerts, seminars and workshops, including on Friday a masterclass with Dutch violinist Yvonne Smeulers and a performance by Zhanna Stelmakh from Belarus.
Friday also saw the announcement of the winner of the 2025 German Musical Instrument Prize, which this year went to guitar manufacturer Paul Hildebrandt.
The akustika 2025 trade fair runs until Sunday 6 April. We look forward to meeting you at stand F03!
