New York’s prestigious Juilliard School has announced the appointment of six distinguished string players to the college division of its string faculty for the 2025-26 academic year.

From autumn 2025, the award-winning violinist Stella Chen, Grammy-award winner Hilary Hahn, renowned violinist and pedagogue Midori, principal associate concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic Sheryl Staples, and founding first violinist of the Brentano Quartet Mark Steinberg will be joining the violin faculty. Nina Lee, cellist with the Brentano Quartet, will be joining the cello faculty.

‘With the addition of these distinguished artists, we add to the depth and breadth of instruction we offer our students,’ commented dean and director of Juilliard’s music division, David Ludwig. ‘These new faculty members share a passion for mentoring the next generation of musicians to achieve their fullest potential as young artists.’
