The emerging chamber ensembles will have the opportunity to pursue performing projects and residencies across Europe through 2029

The MERITA Platform has announced 44 ensembles selected for its second MERITAcubed project, dedicated to nurturing artistic and professional development of emerging chamber music ensembles across Europe.
Until 2029, the selected ensembles, comprising 22 string quartets and 22 piano trios, will create original projects around six thematic topics.
Joining the 38 string quartets from the project’s first edition (2022-2025), the ensembles will also perform internationally and participate in residences across European houses, as well as gain access to Merita’s digital tools and professional network.
Coordinated by Le Dimore del Quartetto in Milan, the project brings together 19 organisations from 16 countries, soon to expand to 22 from 19 countries, including prominent cultural and concert institutions across Europe.
The ensembles were selected by Merita’s artistic committee, which comprises Jonathan Aner, Simone Gramaglia, Viviane Hagner, Hila Karni, Bjørg Lewis and Alexander Pavlovsky.
