Brett Yang and Eddy Chen announced they can no longer commit to producing content at the pace that defined the past 13 years of the comedy duo

TwoSetViolin creators Brett Yang and Eddy Chen have announced that they are stepping back from their channel in order to focus on individual creative projects.
In a video titled It’s been a fun journey, the pair explained that after more than a decade of prioritising TwoSet, they felt the time had come to dedicate their attention to separate pursuits.
‘For the last 12, 13 years, we’ve kind of put TwoSet as a main focus,’ they said. ‘The time has come where we kind of feel like, OK, we have personal projects and stuff we want to do.’
The duo stressed that they could no longer commit to maintaining the channel in the long term.
Reflecting on the channel’s growth since its launch in 2013, the violinists thanked supporters for helping transform a post-conservatoire experiment into one of the most successful classical music channels online.
‘We’re super grateful that you’ve all been here for the last 12, 13 years,’ they said. ‘It’s incredible to actually have an audience support us, watch us.’
The pair also looked back on milestones including their early crowdfunded tours, international concert appearances and collaborations with orchestras and fellow musicians.
While stopping short of calling the announcement a farewell, Yang and Chen said audiences should not expect a continuation of the channel in its previous form.
‘I know some of you want us to keep doing videos forever, but it’s kind of impossible for us to be doing this until we’re 100 years old,’ they said. ‘This is not something that’s going to continue where we’re just going to keep going like we did in the past.’
The duo added that they do not currently know when they will next upload to the channel, but said any future updates would be shared directly with subscribers.
With more than 4.3 million subscribers, TwoSetViolin has played a significant role in bringing classical music to younger online audiences through comedy sketches, educational content, performance videos and world tours.
