As secondary ticketing websites continue to rake in vast profits, a group of affected parties are calling on the EU to take action at long last

A coalition from the live events sector has called on the EU to end unauthorised ticket resale. More than 130 national and European representative organisations, artist management agencies, venues, promoters, orchestras and theatres signed an open letter to Michael McGrath, the EU commissioner for democracy, justice, the rule of law and consumer protection. The signatories, including the Montreux Jazz Festival, the Association of Hungarian Orchestras and the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, want the EU to take stronger action against what they describe as the anti-consumer, fraudulent practices associated with ticket resale…
