Five participants of this year’s masterclasses received awards in recognition for their musicianship and artistic potential

Five young cellists received sponsorship awards following the culmination of Kronberg Academy’s 2026 cello masterclasses on 30 September. The prizes recognise participants who have impressed the faculty with both their musicianship and artistic potential.
The Landgraf von Hessen Prize, worth €5,000, was shared equally between Miles Levine (20, US) and Lyana Ulikhanyan (15, Armenia). The Frans Helmerson Sponsorship Prize, which honours Helmerson’s lifetime achievement as a teacher, is worth €5,000 and was shared equally between Hun Choi (25, South Korea) and Hugo Svedberg (18, UK).
Additionally, Luís Dias Canali (17, Portugal) received the Sponsorship Prize of the Kronberg Cello Masterclasses, worth €500, which is awarded to a promising participant.
The prizewinners performed in appearances with the Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn and in recital programmes with pianists of the cello masterclasses.
The next cello masterclasses will take place at the Kronberg Festival in 2028.
