The musicians will perform the world premiere of Mark Boden’s Piano Trio ‘Lady of the Mercians’ at the July 2027 summer festival
The Paddington Trio have been appointed associate artists of the Lichfield Festival. The appointment will begin with a concert at the festival’s chamber weekend on 2 October.
The trio, who have made three appearances at the festival in recent years, will return for the summer festival in July 2027 to give the world premiere of Mark Boden’s Piano Trio ‘Lady of the Mercians’. The piece is written specifically for the Paddington Trio and the Lichfield Festival.
Comprising Finnish violinist Tuulia Hero, Irish cellist Patrick Moriarty and American pianist Stephanie Tang, the Paddington Trio won first prize at the Royal Over-Seas League Competition in 2022 and the Parkhouse Award in 2023. Its debut album, Freakshow, will be released on Pentatone in January 2027.
